Event Description:
Choral Evensong will be sung at 5:00 pm (preceded by an Organ Prelude by Canon Mark Laubach at 4:45 pm) by the combined Choirs of St. Stephen’s and the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem, with other guest singers. The combined choirs will be led by Canon Laubach, Organist and Choirmaster of St. Stephen's, and Stephen Williams, Organist and Choirmaster at Nativity Cathedral. Music sung by the combined forces will feature newly-commissioned Evening Canticles (Magnificat and Nunc dimittis), composed by Robert Nicholls (Director of Music and Organist of the First Presbyterian Church of Evansville, IN) to celebrate St. Stephen’s 200th Anniversary. The world premiere of these beautiful new works at this festival service will be conducted by the composer.
