St. Stephen’s and the Downtown Ministerium present a pre-noon Lenten organ recital by Dr. Brenda Lynne Leach of the Music Department faculty at Marywood University in Scranton. The liturgist at the noon service will be the Rev’d Diane Sickler, Pastor of Unity of Northeastern Pennsylvania in Wilkes-Barre, and the preacher will be Fr. Timothy Alleman, Priest-in-Charge of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Special music will be presented by the Chamber Singers of Marywood University, directed by Dr. Rick Hoffenberg. A soup and sandwich lunch will be served after the service for a suggested donation of $4.00. Free-will offerings received at the service and lunch will be donated to Ruth’s Place Women’s Shelter. St. Stephen’s has hosted this annual series of organ recitals and ecumenical Lenten services since the 1920s.
