St. Stephen’s and the Downtown Ministerium present a pre-noon Lenten organ recital by Canon Stephen C. Williams, Organist and Choirmaster of the Episcopal Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, PA. (N.B. - this recital will begin at 11:20 am, 10 minutes earlier than the usual starting time for this series.) The liturgist at the noon service will be Monsignor Vincent Grimalia, Coordinator for Ecumenism and Interfaith Relations in the Diocese of Scranton, and formerly Chaplain of St. Luke’s Villa in Wilkes-Barre. The preacher will be the Rev’d Diane Sickler, Pastor of Unity of Northeastern Pennsylvania in Wilkes-Barre. Special music for French horn and organ will be presented by Earl D. Orcutt and Canon Mark Laubach of St. Stephen’s. A soup and sandwich lunch will be served after the service for a suggested donation of $4.00. Free-will offerings received at the service and lunch will be donated to Ruth’s Place Women’s Shelter. St. Stephen’s has hosted this annual series of organ recitals and ecumenical Lenten services since the 1920s.
