    You're Invited to Wilkes-Barre Connect's Next Spotlight Series!
    The Wilkes-Barre Connect Spotlight series will hold its next event on Thursday, November 1st from 5-7 PM.Julie Anixter, Founder at Ensemble.Works, Special Advisor to the President at AIGA, and Fellow at Signal Analytics is our featured speaker.Our video spotlights include Nicole Farber, CEO at ENX2 Marketing; Tanner Coleman, Director of Business Development & Marketing at Mobiniti; and Kathryn Bondi, President of the Board of Directors of the American Advertising Federation of NEPA & Graphic Designer of Posture Interactive. 

    Julie Anixter has been a leading design and innovation practitioner for two decades. Her career has spanned design, business, the public sector and education. She specializes in large-scale transformation projects, and new product, service and business model implementations.

    Julie has global experience working with world-class brands and institutions utilizing design thinking/experience design, business strategy, and technology to activate and realize transformation and growth, with an emphasis on helping diverse stakeholders align to create impact.

    Her commercial consulting clients have included Aetna, Bayer, Chanel, GE, P&G, Roche, Verizon and Xerox. On the federal sector she has worked with the US Naval Aviation Systems Command, the US Air Force IT Command, and USPS. 

    While she has experience in many facets of the design and innovation disciplines, she is most known for her ability to design and lead programs, create partnerships, and to facilitate, coach and lead teams from the C-level to the front line, helping organizations and their customers adopt solutions to complex problems. 

    She most recently served as Executive Director, AIGA, the professional association for design; Prior roles included Chief Innovation Officer, Maga Design, CMO, Brandimage, Managing Director, Tom Peters Company, and principal in her own consulting company, Think Remarkable. She has also served in executive leadership roles in two Fortune 500 companies that while not well known to the public, Equity Office Properties and Anixter International, are considered the industry leaders in their sectors. In each company she led large teams, and had P&L responsibility.

    The Spotlight program features quarterly events that provide an opportunity for industry leaders, entrepreneurs and students in NEPA to meet, discuss, and identify potential partnerships. Each event features a fifteen-minute presentation from an entrepreneur– our version of TED Talks, while also highlighting some of our up-and-coming local businesses and entrepreneurs.

    Spotlight is coordinated by the Diamond City Partnership and sponsored by Penn State Wilkes-Barre, through the INVENT Penn State Initiative. Launched in 2015 by Penn State President Dr. Eric Barron, INVENT Penn State is a Commonwealth-wide initiative to spur economic development, job creation, and student career success.

    Spotlight is FREE to attend, but requires each attendee to register prior to the event.
