WILKES BARRE, PA: Wilkes-Barre Connect is excited to announce the next two speakers for the upcoming Wilkes-Barre Connect Conference, being held on November 17th-19th at the Woodlands Inn & Resort: Dr. Alexander Dale, Senior Officer, Sustainability Community, of MIT Solve and Ced Funches, Co-Founder, Schooold.
Dr. Alexander Dale is the Senior Officer for MIT Solve’s Sustainability pillar, where he supports and connects innovators and organizations passionate about tackling food, energy, water, and climate challenges. He has an academic background in the life-cycle impacts of energy and water infrastructure, and a professional background in environmental policy, engineering education, and nonprofit management. Dale has a Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering and a B.S.E. in Engineering Physics, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
Ced Funches started his career in the NBA working as an art director and graphic designer for the Minnesota Timberwolves. A driven entrepreneur, Ced has founded five companies, the first at age 19. He has continued to lead design teams, create socially driven ventures, collaborate, and build creative solutions at some of the world’s best companies. Ced's latest venture is Schooold — a private social network platform for teens that gives them real-time financial guidance early in life to better prepare them for college and beyond.
“We are thrilled at the addition of Dr. Alexander Dale and Ced Funches to our already impressive speaker lineup at the Wilkes-Barre Connect Conference,” said Joseph Boylan, Executive Director of Wilkes-Barre Connect. “Both offer the right experience and passion to inspire and motivate our students, entrepreneurs, young professionals, and community leaders attending our event in November.”
The commitment of Alexander Dale and Ced Funches follows the recent announcement of Julie Anixter, Enterprise Design Principal, Maga Design Group, and Ashleigh Axios, former Creative Director for the Obama White House, who will serve as the main lunch speaker on Monday, November 18th.
